An Agitated Thin Film Dryer (ATFD) is used to remove solvents from liquid or slurry materials by applying heat. The material is spread into a thin film on a heated surface, which increases the contact area for efficient drying. This ensures rapid solvent removal while minimizing the thermal degradation of sensitive substances.
Inside the ATFD, a rotating agitator constantly mixes and moves the material, ensuring uniform distribution and preventing clumping. This agitation helps in maintaining a consistent thin film across the dryer’s surface, which improves heat transfer and accelerates the evaporation process.
